The Soldiers Table Introduced
The third episode ended with a huge suspense moment and revealed the premier party of characters who will separate from the primary party to undertake their own adventure, distinct from the remaining groups.
This warrior group includes Teor Pridesire (played by Travis Willingham), the agile character (Laura), the fierce warrior (Whitney), Wicander (Sam Riegel), and Kattigan Vale (the actor).
The Reason for Division
With a large ensemble, it was clear from the beginning that having everyone at one table would be impossible.
Hence, the first four episodes of this story serve as an Prelude, weaving together the individual narratives before splitting into three distinct groups: Fighters, Planners, and Explorers.
Characteristics of the Warrior Group
Per Brennan Lee Mulligan, the combat-focused party is for participants who enjoy a classically intense fight-heavy narrative style where non-violent answers are rare.
Initially, characters like the squeamish cleric Wicander might appear mismatched, but the actions of the latest installment show why these particular heroes are perfectly fit for the warrior group.
Motivations for Departure
First, the group knows exactly where to proceed after a intense initial meeting with the enemy group.
Casimir of Thjazi—whose demise started the story’s plot—exploited the foes for his own means, invading the hidden lair, assaulting the rogue, and taking all the enchanted items to sell off.
The antagonist then paid off his obligations and ran away to a secure base in the remote area, above the city, with Teor’s brother hot on his heels.
Character Drivers
Additionally, each adventurer has a specific drive to leave the city the metropolitan area:
- The rogue, as the companion and best friend, seeks vengeance.
- The adventurer knows the northern area and warns that it is a dangerous place.
- The strong character and Wicander, having defied his relatives’ demands to eliminate Teor and instead freed him, have nowhere else to go.
- However, their position as key figures in the influential clan could enable the party enter places they typically wouldn’t be able to.
- Moreover, The fighter vowed a unbreakable promise to The savior for his rescue and will now go with him wherever.
Fugitives
Lastly, all of them are sought by the powers that control Dol-Makjar for a multiple motives, making staying in the city too risky:
- Thimble and The character are known criminals.
- Tyranny and The healer turned against House Halovar and the horde of evil beings they are partnered with.
- The fighter is targeted for elimination by House Halovar.
This results in them few options but to journey toward the northern region in quest for the traitor.
